European Georgia leader Giga Bokeria says the country is in a “tough spot.” He believes the opposition’s mobilization “was not enough.”
“Fighting against the authoritarian regime requires complex and consistent steps, including peaceful protests,” he said.
“The slogan ‘elections have been cancelled’ is wrong for us. Changing such dangerous regimes through non-electoral means requires much more support from the public,” Bokeria noted.
He thinks the opposition should not expect quick success. “It is completely illogical to say elections have been cancelled and also work on bills in the parliament. It does not pep up the citizens.”
