Opposition parties submitted 300,000 signatures to the Parliament

The 20 opposition parties have submitted 300,000 signatures to the Parliament requesting transfer to the proportional system for 2020.

The opposition demands to hold the parliamentary elections through the proportional system and carry out changes in the electoral system.

On February 15, the Parliamentary Procedural Issues and Rules Committee satisfied the demand of non-parliamentary opposition.

An initiative group has been registered for constitutional amendments. The opposition demands replacement of the majoritarian system with the proportional for 2020 elections. The initiative group had the 4-month term for collecting 200,000 signatures.
