Opposition Alliance's Tevzadze: Political parties should not participate in Family Purity Day march; voters will decide voluntarily
“Respect for the family is important for every citizen of Georgia. I am confident that our supporters and voters will attend this procession,” said Tengo Tevzadze, a member of the Opposition Alliance.
According to him, political parties should not be participants in the procession.
“This is a religious holiday. The Patriarch of our country, Ilia II, established this day as the Day of Family Purity. Respect for the family, and this day in particular, is vital for every Georgian citizen. I am confident that our supporters and voters will be present at this march, as parishioners predominantly attend the march. Therefore, this is a church holiday, and I believe political parties should not participate either in organising or in taking part in this march as parties. Our voters and members will decide voluntarily, and many among them are likely to join the march,” Tevzadze stated.
