“I haven’t sent a letter to anyone, not even to Gharibashvili, except for a text message. I’ve never sent a letter to anyone in my life, ever,” said Mamuka Mdinaradze, responding to the question on whether his resignation was linked to jailed ex-Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili’s case.

“Do you know what the letter says? Have you read it? I would have had to speak from his supporter’s perspective, right? If that letter had been mine, let’s follow the logic: well, I am free to speak openly now; the letter is written from the standpoint of his supporter, isn’t it? So, how could it possibly be from Mamuka Mdinaradze? Where is logic? Did Mamuka Mdinaradze write ‘fight to the end’?

Mamuka urged reporters to ask Irakli Gharibashvili about the letter.

Jailed ex-PM Irakli Gharibashvili wrote in his first social network post that he had received a letter from Mamuka Mdinaradze.
