Number of asylum seekers in Germany from Georgia decreased by 26.5 percent

The number of asylum seekers in Germany from Georgia has decreased by 26.5 percent.

According to the Federal Service for Migration and Refugees, in January-April of this year, there were 1,628 applications from Georgian citizens, and in January-April of 2018, this number was 2,215.

In 2019 the number of applications reduced by the following months: January – 745; February – 596; March – 544; April – 330.

In 2018, the number of asylum seekers from Georgia increased by 23 percent. There were 3 462 applications in 2017, the number increased up to 4265 in 2018.
