Norwegian Embassy views freezing bank accounts of 7 NGOs as yet another step in “dismantling of democracy”

“The freezing of bank accounts of 7 more civil society organizations is yet another step in the dismantling of democracy in Georgia and a severe blow to all citizens benefitting from the important work performed by these CSOs,” reads the statement of the Norwegian Embassy in Georgia.

On August 27, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, within the framework of an ongoing investigation, decided to freeze bank accounts of seven non-governmental organizations.
