Nikoloz Janjgava to hold senior post in NATO's Resolute Support Mission

First Deputy Chief of Defence of Georgian Forces, Brigadier General Nikoloz Janjgava will assume the post of  Deputy Chief of Staff Security Assistance in NATO-led Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan.

The Deputy Chief of Defence of Georgian Armed Forces will hold this post during a year.

Before departure, General Nikoloz Janjgava met with the Georgian Defence Minister. The meeting was attended by the Chief of Defence Forces, Lieutenant-General Vladimer Chachibaia.

This is the first time when a representative of the Georgian Defence Forces assumes the senior post in the NATO’s Resolute Support Mission (Kabul). The military command of the Resolute Support Mission is traditionally staffed by senior officers from NATO member states.
