New school year starts in Georgia

Public schools and kindergartens across Georgia have started the learning process today. Georgian Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli congratulated teachers, pupils and their parents on the new academic year.

“A truly educated generation is a solid foundation for Georgia’s progress and development. I believe that our young people, with the knowledge they gained at school and their special abilities, will benefit their homeland,” Mikheil Chkhenkeli said.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science, 632 726 pupils will study at Georgian schools this year, among them 55 717 first-graders.
