New European low-cost carrier Norwegian Air Sweden commences direct flights to Tbilisi
From June 2026, the Georgian capital will be directly linked to another major European city, Copenhagen (Kingdom of Denmark). Norwegian Air Sweden, a subsidiary of the renowned Scandinavian low-cost carrier Norwegian, will operate the new route.
According to the Ministry of Economy, subject to approval by the Civil Aviation Agency, flights between Tbilisi and Copenhagen will operate twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday, starting from June 27, and on Wednesdays and Sundays from August 15.
The Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development granted the airline the necessary permission to commence operations on March 23.
The Ministry highlights that the introduction of the Copenhagen-Tbilisi-Copenhagen route will bolster Georgia’s connectivity with Scandinavian countries and stimulate tourism from Northern Europe. Moreover, Copenhagen Airport, as one of Europe’s major transit hubs, will offer Georgian travellers enhanced opportunities to connect onwards to other European and American destinations via Copenhagen.
