Nergeti landslide: One rescued, four dead and five people still missing
As part of the search and rescue operations in Nergeti village of the Baghdati municipality in the Imereti region, rescuers have recovered four dead bodies, safely relocated one person, and are still searching for five missing individuals, according to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
The Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, Temur Mghebrishvili, arrived at the disaster site to coordinate the work with over 200 firefighter-rescuers, representatives of MIA, and local authorities.
Last night, a landslide hit the village, trapping four houses. The disaster resulted in casualties, and some people remain missing.
