NBG reports 13% rise in money transfers in July

In July, the volume of money transfers into Georgia grew by 13.0%, reaching USD 337.0 million, according to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

For the first seven months of 2025, total remittances amounted to USD 2,052.0 million. The majority originated from European Union countries, accounting for 44.3% of the total USD 149.4 million, representing a 16.4% annual increase. Italy, Germany, and Greece contributed the largest shares from the EU.

Remittances from the United States also continued their upward trend, with a 21.1% increase in July, totalling USD 60.9 million.

Conversely, transfers from the Russian Federation declined by 9.5% annually, amounting to USD 45.3 million.

Additionally, in July 2025, Georgia sent USD 37.3 million (approximately GEL 101.2 million) abroad, marking an 11.4% rise compared to July 2024’s USD 33.5 million.
