NBG: Georgia earned $1.97 billion from international travel in January-June 2025
The National Bank of Georgia says the country earned $1.145 billion in tourism revenue during the second quarter of 2025, marking a 5.0% increase compared to the same period last year. Total revenue from international travel in the first half of 2025 reached $1.971 billion, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 3.8%.
The European Union accounted for 15.2% of second-quarter travel revenue, totaling $173.9 million-a significant 26.0% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
According to official statistics, revenues from Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel showed the highest growth rates, with annual increases of 42.3%, 20.9%, and 16.4% respectively. In contrast, revenue from Russia saw a sharp decline of 20.5% in Q2 2025.
