NATO Liaison Office: NATO remains committed to 2008 Bucharest Summit decisions: Georgia will become NATO member

The NATO Liaison Office in Georgia stated on Monday, saying, “For over three decades, Georgia has been firmly committed to Euro-Atlantic integration, and NATO has consistently supported Georgia’s reform efforts and aspirations.”

The Office went on to say that “Georgia is one of NATO’s closest partners. The country contributes actively to NATO-led missions and participates in joint exercises, demonstrating its readiness to contribute to shared security.”

“Through mechanisms such as the Annual National Programme (ANP) and the Substantial NATO–Georgia Package (SNGP), Georgia continues to align its defence and security institutions with NATO standards.

NATO remains committed to the decisions taken at the 2008 Bucharest Summit and subsequent summits: Georgia will become a member of NATO. The Alliance continues to support Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and democratic development,” the NATO Liaison Office wrote on Facebook.
