National Wine Agency: 2025 marks record-breaking grape harvest in 30 years
According to data as of October 23, 330,000 tons of grapes have been processed in Georgia’s wine-growing regions, marking the largest harvest in the last 30 years. This year’s harvest has involved 21,200 wine-growing farmers across the country, the National Wine Agency reported.
In Kakheti alone, 323,000 tons of grapes have been processed. Of this amount, approximately 170,000 tons are Rkatsiteli, 134,000 tons are Saperavi, and the remainder consists of other grape varieties.
Grape picking remains active in Sagarejo Municipality.
The harvest is also underway in Lechkhumi. In Tsageri Municipality, growers are delivering grapes to wine companies without interruption, with up to 112 tons already received. The total harvest in Tsageri is forecast to reach about 1,400 tons this year.
Meanwhile, the harvest has concluded in Racha, where a record yield of up to 3,000 tons of grapes has been fully collected.
