US Embassy commemorates 25th anniversary of 9/11 attacks

“Today marks 25 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, a tragedy that claimed 2,977 lives and changed America forever,” the US Embassy declared in a statement marking the anniversary.

“Twenty-five years on, we continue to honour the memory of those who perished, the heroes who emerged in that hour of tragedy, and the enduring resilience of the American spirit.

In the face of unimaginable evil, Americans showed the world that we will never back down, never break, and never surrender,” the statement read.
