Georgian Embassy in Washington pays tribute to 9/11 victims on 25th anniversary, reaffirming solidarity with the United States

The tragedy of September 11, 2001, left an indelible mark on the memory of both the American people and the international community, the Embassy of Georgia to the United States posted on social media.

The Embassy paid homage to those who lost their lives in the attacks and expressed steadfast solidarity with the United States.

“Today marks 25 years since the tragic events of September 11. That catastrophe left a profound and lasting imprint on the collective memory of the American nation and the entire global community. September 11, 2001, will endure as one of the gravest and most poignant chapters in human history, a moment at the turn of the century that reminded us all that even in times of profound trial, mutual support, solidarity, and unity can prevail.

Service members, firefighters, rescue workers, and ordinary citizens risked their lives in heroic displays of selflessness. Their courage ensures that September 11 will forever remain not only a symbol of tremendous tragedy, but also an enduring emblem of human dignity, fortitude, and compassion.

Nearly three thousand innocent lives were cut short by terrorist attacks of unprecedented scale, leaving families to endure unbearable loss. We honour the memory of every individual who perished and stand alongside their families in remembrance. We reaffirm our unyielding solidarity with the United States,” the statement read.
