National Food Agency: Five samples of Soplis Nobati milk removed and sealed from market
The National Food Agency has released additional information regarding the results of inspections conducted on Wim-Bill-Dan Georgia LLC (ID: 204546553), which produces Soplis Nobati milk.
According to the agency, excessive levels of Aflatoxin M1 were detected in five samples of imported milk, one of which is intended for infant nutrition. The process of removing these products from the market and sealing them is currently underway.
“The National Food Agency has been conducting raw milk testing for aflatoxins as part of its state control measures since 2022, following Georgian legislation and harmonising with European Union regulations.
The agency implements control measures at hundreds of facilities daily to ensure that the population can access safe food. Inspections are carried out both according to predetermined plans and in response to notifications received from the public. The National Food Agency promptly informs the public of any discovered violations, as protecting citizens’ health is the agency’s top priority,” stated officials of the National Food Agency.
The agency has urged consumers not to use Soplis Nobati milk after detecting aflatoxin in the samples.
