National Environment Agency warns of heavy rain, thunderstorms in Tbilisi area
Georgia’s National Environment Agency has issued a weather warning for Tbilisi and surrounding areas from the night of July 20 through the morning of July 21.
According to the agency, intermittent rainfall is expected across the capital and nearby areas, with locally heavy downpours. Thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds are also possible.
The agency warned that heavy rainfall could trigger flash flooding on smaller rivers and initiate or intensify landslide and mudflow processes in hilly and mountainous areas. The National Environment Agency has classified the weather threat as moderate.
