National Enforcement Bureau evicts residential block on Tvalchrelidze Street
The National Enforcement Bureau on Friday said it has successfully evicted a residential block on Tvalchrelidze Street.
According to an official statement, the case was submitted to the Bureau on June 11, 2024.
Throughout the year, authorities performed individual evaluations of each resident’s social status and requirements. Following hundreds of inspections, it was discovered that 39 families were permanently dwelling in the building.
“Tbilisi City Hall and the Ministry of IDPs, Labour, Health, and Social Affairs provided aid to residents who were internally displaced or considered socially vulnerable.
The eviction process had previously been postponed twice to allow time for mediation and voluntary resolution. As a result of ongoing communication, the creditor proposed one-time compensation or rental assistance to the unlawful occupants, which the majority of residents accepted.
The Bureau noted that psycho-emotional support and preparatory work were also provided to residents throughout the process.
The building’s load-bearing walls were compromised, and unauthorized renovation works had further increased the danger,” the statement reads, adding that expert analysis from Samkharauli Forensic Bureau confirmed the “extremely poor” condition of the building.
