National Bureau of Enforcement warns of dangerous buildings and urges residents to comply with eviction orders at Tbilisi Tvalchrelidze Street
The National Bureau of Enforcement has released information regarding the ongoing enforcement process at Tvalchrelidze Street No. 1 in Tbilisi.
According to the statement, the buildings at this address are fully depreciated and pose a serious threat to the health and safety of the residents.
“The enforcement proceedings were initiated by the National Bureau of Enforcement on June 11, 2024, following a decision by the Tbilisi City Court. The site includes five buildings in critical condition. An expert report from Samkharauli confirms that the load-bearing walls are damaged, creating an imminent risk of collapse.
In an effort to reach an amicable settlement and protect the interests of all parties involved, the eviction process has been postponed twice through mediation by the National Bureau of Enforcement. Alongside enforcement police, the Bureau’s Department for Protection of Parties’ Interests and Mediation, as well as social workers, have been actively involved. Dozens of visits were conducted to assess residents’ conditions and needs, with requests submitted to relevant state agencies for support and services to ensure accessibility,” the Agency stated.
Negotiations with the creditor party have been ongoing. The creditor, together with state agencies, expressed willingness to provide temporary housing for families living illegally on the premises, though some families refused these offers.
The National Bureau of Enforcement urges all individuals residing illegally to voluntarily comply with the court decision and accept the offers from the creditor and state agencies. Otherwise, the Bureau will be compelled to enforce the court ruling to protect property rights and uphold the rule of law.
