Director General of MyWay Airlines, Rati Bakuradze, hopes the evacuation of company personnel from Sudan will begin today.
Bakuradze says the company is in constant contact with the Georgian Foreign Ministry to start the evacuation process at the appropriate time.
“We are now in negotiations with various partners; perhaps, with the involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we will be able to safely evacuate our employees by land,” he said.
Georgian citizens, who are employees of two Georgian air companies, stay in Sudan.
Sudan’s military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group have been engaged in fierce fighting since April 15.
