Director General of MyWay Airlines, Rati Bakuradze, on Monday, said the company’s 13 employees stranded in Khartoum were safe.

According to Bakuradze, the company has been waiting for the situation in Sudan to stabilize before evacuating its staff.

“They are a bit far from the epicenter. We are in communication with the Georgian consul in Turkey, exchanging information. It is a bit early to talk about the green corridor as there are several forces that are difficult to control,” Bakuradze noted.

Earlier, Airline Geo Sky’s Director, Shalva Kiknadze, said that the company’s 20 employees were also safe.

The fighting, which killed over 100 in three days, is taking place near Khartoum’s main airport.
