Airline Geo Sky’s Director General, Shalva Kiknadze, on Monday, said that among the 30 Georgian citizens in Khartoum, where clashes between rival armed factions continue, 20 work for Geo Sky, while 10 for MyWay Airlines.
“They are safe and have constant contact with their family members,” he told GPB First Channel.
“We have supplied them with water and food. Georgian Foreign Ministry, alongside its partner countries, as well as the UN mission, are working together, awaiting the agreement between the parties to provide a safe corridor to evacuate our staff,” he remarked.
As Kiknadze noted, the fighting, which killed over 100 in three days, is taking place within 2 kilometers of Khartoum’s main airport.
