MP Sharmanashvili: If there were no necessity, we would not have established this position of State Minister
“If there were no real need, we wouldn’t have established this position of State Minister,” said the member of the parliamentary majority, MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili, to GPB Channel One.
According to him, no new agency has been created; rather, a new position has been introduced, which will be managed by the government administration.
“The challenges are so significant, and so much work is being undertaken within law enforcement agencies, that establishing this position is essential. As for the claim that staff numbers haven’t increased, this is entirely unfounded and amateurish reasoning. No new agency has been formed; only a new position has been introduced. If the government administration can cover this responsibility, why should there be additional expenses? Only an amateur would argue otherwise,” Sharmanashvili emphasised.
For context, the proposal to introduce the position of State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies was presented at today’s session of the Parliamentary Bureau.
The legislative initiative involves a government reshuffle, including Mamuka Mdinaradze’s appointment as Vice Prime Minister and State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies.
