MP Samkharadze: Georgian opposition and Hungary's Magyar employ diverging strategies; his victory brings no impact on opposition in Georgia

“I believe there is little hope for the opposition, considering that Peter Magyar has employed entirely different tactics, and the Georgian opposition itself is distinct,” stated MP Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations.

He noted that Magyar’s messages bore a striking resemblance to those of Viktor Orbán.

“This individual travelled from village to village, conducting a notably active election campaign. His rhetoric was not much different from Orbán’s. As for the Georgian opposition, they have lost all connection with their own voters and are not working to safeguard Georgia’s security. On the contrary, they are undermining it. Therefore, they are mistaken if they believe Magyar’s victory would yield any positive results. The Georgian opposition and Magyar’s camp have entirely different tactics and strategies,” Samkharadze concluded.
