MP Paata Kvizhinadze: 2026 state budget draft focused on citizens’ needs
The 2026 state budget draft, prepared by the government, has been submitted to Parliament at today’s bureau session.
Chair of the Finance and Budget Committee, MP Paata Kvizhinadze, emphasised that the draft is rooted in the country’s development trajectory. He highlighted that Georgia’s key economic indicators are among the best in Europe and neighbouring regions, reaffirming Georgia’s leadership.
“The budget deficit is 2.5%, government debt is decreasing while increasing elsewhere. Total investments are rising, inflation remains within 3%, and the consolidated budget has grown by GEL 3 billion to 30.5 billion. The state budget has grown by GEL 2.7 billion in revenue and GEL 2.53 billion in taxes, allocated across various ministries. No ministry will see a decrease,” Kvizhinadze explained.
MP Kvizhinadze also noted that, under the new budget, pensions and public sector salaries will be increased.
“This budget is truly tailored to the people,” added Paata Kvizhinadze.
