Salome Zurabishvili, President of Georgia, has been suspended MP Mandate during the extraordinary session of the parliament held today.
The 93 lawmakers voted for, and 0 – against. Giorgi Kakhiani, Chairman of the Parliamentary Procedural Committee raised the issue.
Salome Zurabishvili was the Majoritarian (single mandate) independent MP from Mtatsminda constituency in the parliament of the 9th Convocation and was elected as President of Georgia in the 2018 presidential elections. She also held the post of deputy chairperson of Diaspora Affairs Committee.
