MP Makhashvili: Lelo blames its own failings on others; violations should be disputed in court
“Kupradze’s statement reminds me of the saying, ‘A bad workman blames his tools.’ They are shifting their own mistakes, inefficiency, and weakness onto others,” said MP Levan Makhashvili, Chairman of the European Integration Committee of Parliament.
Makhashvili responded to Irakli Kupradze’s remarks, the Tbilisi mayoral candidate for the Lelo-Strong Georgia coalition, who claimed that “violent pressure and attacks are being carried out against coalition members, majoritarians, mayors, and local leaders.”
According to Makhashvili, Lelo is merely blaming others for its own shortcomings.
“We are not opposed to them pursuing legal action if they have concrete evidence and specific arguments to substantiate any claims of violations. I don’t believe this is a widespread or serious issue. Occasionally, in some districts, they might try to present isolated cases as if they are part of a systemic problem. In reality, they should look inward and address their own deficiencies rather than blame Georgian Dream,” Makhashvili stated.
