MP Maia Bitadze: Opposition’s subversive activities will fail; visa liberalisation not to be used as punitive measure

“We are well aware of the methods the opposition employs to undermine Georgia, not the Georgian Dream,” stated MP Maia Bitadze, Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Environmental Protection.

According to her, all their plans are rooted in lies and deception, which have ultimately been unsuccessful.

“This is not the first time they have obstructed the proper development of our country. Their call to suspend visa-free travel is nothing new. We know they opposed granting our country candidate status and visa liberalisation, attempting to prevent Georgia from achieving these successes. Their current subversive activities will also fail. Visa liberalisation should not be weaponised as a punitive measure. I am firmly convinced that no instrument should be used against the people of Georgia. While they may attempt to revive it, they have already made an illogical decision regarding diplomatic passports,” Maia Bitadze concluded.
