MP Kadagishvili: The opposition has no foothold in Georgia; foreign support is all they hang on to
“The opposition has no foothold in Georgia. The only thing they are hanging on to is foreign support—to keep them on life support; that is the entire purpose of their meetings,” declared MP Irakli Kadagishvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Self-Government.
According to Kadagishvili, the opposition is appealing to its Western patrons and protectors for help.
“They see that justice may well knock on their door. They are telling their Western patrons and protectors: save us, do something to this country, or justice might prevail in Georgia. We watched the entire saga unfold, starting from the elections through to Saakashvili being smuggled into Georgia, and what they put this country through. All of this took place through orchestrated interference and management from the West. That is why they are once again hoping: ‘Do something to this country, so we can somehow evade a fair trial,'” Kadagishvili stated.
