MP Kadagishvili: Real aim of EU policy is not democracy, but obedience; it's not about free speech

According to MP Irakli Kadagishvili, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Self-Government, the primary aim of current EU policy is not democracy.

Kadagishvili asserts that the European Union seeks a compliant government and that this is its real objective.

“If the government obeys and follows their directives, everything will be deemed ‘successful’ for that government, including Gvaramia’s television policy, which will be considered ideal when five stations echo the same voice, as they’ve been telling us for years: ‘News is made here’. They claim that this is their version of democracy.

Therefore, those fighting for genuine democracy in Georgia understand well what true democracy is, and what pseudo-democracy is, which cannot tolerate dissent. They will target television stations and, ultimately, free thought itself. If they are allowed, they will even ban the crossing of the cross.

This is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, talking about banning television stations in the name of democracy. It is a biblical warning in action,” Kadagishvili remarked, speaking on sanctions against television stations.
