MP Gorduladze: Today's developments show that forces promoting radicalism and extremism seek to divide Georgian nation

“Today proves that forces encouraging radicalism and extremism are operating within the country,” stated MP Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament.

According to Gorduladze, unfortunately, these forces harbour a strong desire to divide the Georgian nation.

“How can Peter Fischer, the German ambassador, express support for radical individuals? He is a representative of Germany, yet sadly, we see him backing individuals distinguished by their hate speech. People are prevented from visiting the April 9 memorial, and radicals are turning this site into a point of contention. When a woman danced at the memorial, it did not provoke protests; now, however, they are blocking the Georgian society from paying their respects. They have not even listened to how the Georgian nation fought for its independence on April 9. They don’t realise that it doesn’t matter which city’s envoy leads the politics or the country. It does not matter which city the requests originate from. Sadly, there are still those in our country who dance to someone else’s tune and prevent the Georgian people from living in peace,” said Archil Gorduladze.
