“Everyone should remember that freedom of expression is not an absolute right and cannot be used to justify violence. Just as in America, you cannot force a police officer and claim it is an exercise of free speech and expression, the same principle applies in our case,” said MP Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs.

According to him, everyone has the right to express their opinions, but the state will act decisively to prevent violence.

“Overthrowing a government is an illegal act, and inciting others to do so is a criminal offence. We have heard numerous dates from the radical opposition for when they intend to change the government, but everyone must remember that such a change can only occur through elections. Any other action is a violation of the law, and no one has the right to pursue it. The state stands firm on its principles, and no one will succeed in seizing power through revolution or coup. They have to make such statements; after all, that is their task,” Gorduladze stated.
