Mother and daughter arrested on charge of selling newly-born child

Officers of Trafficking and Illegal Migration Division of Central Criminal Police Department of Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained a woman born in 1960 and her daughter born in 1989 on charge of selling a newly-born child.

Investigation determined that the two women sold the child at 1000 GEL and led negotiations with the potential customer. The charge envisages from 14 to 17 years in prison.
