Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister, Abdulla Aripov, within the framework of her official visit to Uzbekistan.
Priority trends of Georgia-Uzbekistan economic cooperation – bilateral trade, transport, logistics, innovations and technologies, energy, aviation, tourism, investments and agriculture – were reviewed during the meeting.
According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia and Uzbekistan are stable trade partners, noting that in 2024, trade turnover increased by 40 percent, and export by 27 percent, while similar dynamics are observed in the first half of 2025 – turnover by 20 percent, and export by 46 percent.
Joint projects and prospects to increase transit and export opportunities were reviewed during the meeting.
The sides agreed to launch identification of sectors for establishment and operation of bilateral enterprises as a result of the working visits.
Deputy Georgian Ministers of Economy Guram Guramishvili, Irakli Nadareishvili and Gennady Arveladze, and Georgian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Davit Kotaria attended the meeting.
