Once again we want to warn citizens not to be fooled by the false information and suggestions of mediators when traveling to the EU countries, – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze told journalists in that regard.

As Mikheil Janelidze noted, there is a certain number of people seeking asylum in the EU.

According to the Minister, citizens of Georgia are requesting asylum Inappropriately in European countries.

“The requesting and providing asylum happens when person is politically persecuted, due to restriction of political freedom and the violation of human rights. Georgia has already ranked as safe country in terms of human rights by the number of EU member states and, therefore, asylum seekers requests are often illegitimate and will not be satisfied”, – Mikheil Janelidze said.
