Migration Department deports 100 foreign citizens from Georgia

In coordination with the Migration Department and relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), 100 foreign citizens have been deported from Georgia, the Ministry reports.

According to the MIA, the individuals were citizens of Egypt, Iraq, Turkiye, Turkmenistan, India, Jordan, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Russia, and Kenya, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Lithuania, Nigeria, Armenia, China and Kyrgyzstan.

Following current legislation, they have also been banned from re-entering the country.

“The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is responsible for combating illegal migration. One of its main functions is to identify foreign citizens residing in Georgia without legal grounds and to ensure their expulsion,” the Ministry stated.
