MIA to ensure public order as well as freedom of expression at May 17 activities

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) released a statement regarding the activities scheduled for today in Tbilisi.

According to the statement, protection of human rights is one of the main priorities of MIA. “The Ministry protects freedom of expression regardless political stance, gender, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Ministry will ensure public order as well as freedom of expression of every person that does not breach the law. The Ministry calls on organizers and participants to observe the law otherwise the police will act in compliance with its mandate and avert any law violation in a timely manner,” reads the statement.
