MIA detains five individuals and confiscates large quantities of drugs
Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have apprehended five individuals on charges related to the illegal purchase and storage of substantial quantities of narcotics, facilitating their sale, and the unlawful cultivation of narcotic-producing plants, the MIA reports.
According to the agency, the investigation is ongoing under Articles 260, 260-Quarter, 19-260, and 265-Prima of the Criminal Code, which stipulate penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life sentence.
Following searches of the suspects’ private and residential premises, as well as during an investigative operation, law enforcement officers seized a significant amount of narcotics prepared for sale from locations identified by the suspects. The seized substances include methadone, alpha-PVP, and mephedrone, along with five cannabis plants and five kilograms of dried marijuana.
Among those detained is an individual whose parcel sent in his name was replaced by the police, allowing them to seize a substantial amount of narcotics as evidence to expose him.
Additionally, the investigation uncovered materials used for packaging and cultivating narcotics, the MIA stated in an official release.
