MIA detains 12 more individuals in connection with October 4 events
The Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 12 more individuals in connection with the October 4 events in Tbilisi, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, announced at the briefing.
According to Darakhvelidze, 35 individuals are detained in total in connection with the case, including the organizers and activists.
“The Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs actively continues the investigation into the October 4 criminal developments in Tbilisi. Within the investigation and through intensive operative activities, law enforcers detained 12 more individuals.
Based on collected evidence, the detainees, alongside the rally organizers, destroyed the Atoneli Presidential Palace fence and attempted to intrude into the building,” he said.
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze added that the MIA continues to take appropriate investigative actions to identify other perpetrators to bring them to criminal responsibility. The investigation is in progress under Articles 187, 222, 225 and 317 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
