Employees of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs deported 37 foreign citizens from Georgia last month, under the Law of Georgia On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
“Some foreign citizens left Georgia voluntarily, while others were forcibly expelled as a result of measures taken by the Migration Department.
A total of 37 citizens from Moldova, Egypt, Armenia, Russia, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, India, Bangladesh, and Nigeria were expelled under the law.
The Migration Department is responsible for combating illegal migration in Georgia. One of its key functions is identifying foreign citizens without legal grounds to stay and ensuring their expulsion,” the MIA states.
