MIA calls on rally participants to express protest peacefully

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) called on rally participants to comply with the law and express their protest peacefully.

According to the MIA, the November 28-29 rallies turned violent. Protesters threw unidentified objects, fireworks and stones at police officers, damaged fences and smashed windows.

“We call on all participants to avoid illegal activities and follow the instructions of law enforcement. Failure to comply will compel the Ministry to act within its legal mandate and enforce measures prescribed by Georgian legislation,” reads the statement.
