MEP Anna Fotyga: UNM leader detention is unacceptable

“The storming of the HQ of the main opposition party and the decision to detain UNM leader Nika Melia is unacceptable”, Member of the European Parliament, Anna Fotyga, echoed the current developments in Georgia on Twitter.

“The storming of the HQ of the main opposition party and decision to detain UNM leader Nika Melia is unacceptable. The political crisis in Georgia cannot be resolved by force, aggression and humilitating statements. This night’s events were a nightmare. We all dream of a different Georgia”, Anna Fotyga tweeted.

Law enforcers arrested Nika Melia, Chairman of the opposition United National Movement (UNM), following a special operation on Tuesday.
