Member of National Movement – Consultations ongoing with oppositional parties on holding of new elections

Tina Bokuchava, a member of National Movement Party said that the Central Election Commission (CEC) was late last night in publishing the preliminary results of the 2020 parliamentary elections because the process of forging the elections was ongoing, especially in big cities.

According to Bokuchava, the opposition won in the elections in the big cities. She said that consultations were now ongoing with oppositional parties on holding of new elections.

“We are in constant coordination with other oppositional parties. We will continue consultations, and I call on everybody, regardless of which political party they voted for, to turn to the street today to protect our choice,” Bokuchava said.

As Bokuchava said, National Movement believes that under the background of mass forging of elections, it will be difficult to recognize legitimacy of results.

“If the government refuses to hold new elections, the opposition then has to refuse to participate in the parliamentary life because this will be the parliament staffed by forged elections rather than by expression of free will of Georgian people,” Bokuchava claimed.
