Marshal Stuart Peach – NATO welcomes Georgia’s efforts to resolve issues peacefully in both occupied regions
The North-Atlantic Treaty Alliance respects and recognizes Georgia’s international boundaries which include Abkhazia and South Ossetia – Chairman of NATO Military Committee Air Chief Marshal Stuart Peach said.
“NATO welcomes Georgia’s efforts to resolve issues peacefully in both occupied regions. Important steps have been made in that direction lately,” Peach claimed.
Peach underlined that this was the third session held in Georgia. He claimed that the visit of NATO Military Committee highlighted that cooperation with Georgia was important for the alliance and it aspired to enhance the relations.
Marshal said that the committee would receive the information about ongoing military reforms in Georgia and security situation.
The NATO Military Committee is holding a sitting in Georgia. The sitting is chaired by Marshal Stuart Peach and Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria. Discussions are being held about security in the Black Sea region.
Presentations will take place about the implementation of Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP) and participation of Georgia in the NATO-led international peacekeeping operations.
Representatives of NATO Military Committee on March 28 will visit Vaziani military base and tour about the Combat Training Center (CTC).
The guests will also visit the NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC) and attend the joint 2019 multinational military training.
