Mamuka Bakhtadze – Decision is made on financing Defense Ministry with 2% of GDP

The decision is made about financing of Defense Ministry with 2% of Gross Domestic Product annually – Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister stated during his address to lawmakers in the parliament which is discussing expression of confidence to the new membership of the government.

When presenting the governmental program, PM focused on defense policy with respect to coping with hybrid challenges, harmonization of armed forces and making them compatible with NATO forces. He also stressed on necessity of establishment of military reserve.

Lawmakers will express confidence to the new membership of the government and governmental program during the plenary session today. The government will need 76 votes of MPs to be approved.
