Majority MP: Giorgi Gakharia was radical over Nika Melia’s MP immunity lifting

Majority MP Sozar Subari said that the resigned Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia was radical over the lifting MP immunity to Nika Melia, Chairman of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party.

In an interview with Imedi TV, Sozar Subari said that Giorgi Gakharia’s resignation remains unclear. He tagged the decision as ‘intolerable.‘

“During this period, leaving in this way, of course, was damaging and intolerable in my opinion. No such thing can be done by a team member and leader. I think he destroyed the trust of people in one second, one day,” Subari said.

Giorgi Gakharia resigned following the court ruling to arrest opposition UNM Head Nika Melia. Gakharia said he failed to reach an agreement with Georgian Dream over this case.
