Locals of Etserperdi village demand infrastructure problems be solved

Locals of Etserperdi village of the Tsalenjikha municipality tried to block the Jvari-Mestia motorway this afternoon, demanding to solve their infrastructure problems.

The protesters said the government showed no interest in their concerns and clashed with the police. The police removed two protesters from the territory.

Tsalenjikha Mayor and the village single-mandate MP from the ruling GD party met the protesters. They pledged the road rehabilitation works in the village would begin next spring after necessary funds in the local budget were secured.

Locals in Etserperdi village regularly hold protests with the same demand.
