Lithuanian MFA calls Tbilisi's statements on activists' training "coordinated information attack"

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry has called Georgian media claims that Great Britain is allegedly training activists in Lithuania to organize unrest during municipal elections to be held in October a “coordinated information attack.”

In response to a question of BNS agency, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry noted that such statements are rumors and are considered a “misleading and coordinated information attack, as they have nothing to do with reality.”

“Such actions are directly related to the Georgian authorities’ departure from democratic values and the European path, with repressions against the political opposition, civil society and independent media,” the ministry said.

Several Georgian media outlets have reported that Great Britain is preparing Georgian activists in Lithuania for the October elections.
