Levan Izoria: Georgia-US cooperation in military sphere moves to new stage

Cooperation between Georgia and the US, especially in the military sphere, moves to a new stage, – Levan Izoria, Georgia’s Minister of Defence made the regarding statement in Vaziani, at the ceremony of launching the US-Georgia new project Georgia Defence Readiness Programme (GDRP) and opening the Combat Training Center (CTC).

According to Minister the strategic cooperation between the two countries has been strengthened. One of the most ambitious projects – Georgia Defence Readiness Programme (GDRP) starts.

“Today is a historic day. Cooperation between Georgia and the United States, especially in the military sphere, moves to a new stage. Strategic cooperation between the two countries is strengthened. Today we are launching the Defence Readiness Programme, which is the most ambitious on its scale. This program envisages equipping and training nine Georgian infantry battalions with NATO training standards to enhance the national defence capabilities and security of the country” – Levan Izoria said.
